CO2 is not a major contributing factor in large temperature shifts. CO2 is not regulating the temperature of the earth. It is a trace gas and likely has a trace effect. It is a bit player in all this. Data for the most recent seven thousand years has CO2 increase that is not matched with proportional Temperature increase, including the most recent decade.
